The award-distribution and closing ceremony of the four day long BASIS SoftExpo 2018 got held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) on Saturday, February 24, 2018 in the evening where Honorable Minister of Post, Telecommunication and ICT Division Mr. Mustafa Jabbar was present as chief guest.

In the program Honorable Minister Mustafa Jabbar said-BASIS SoftExpo is basically country’s biggest platform for the local software developers. This year we tried to present a clear concept for the buyers regarding the efficiency and after sales services of the local software up to the level of policy-developers. The minister also urged all to take preparations from right now to participate again in the SoftExpo next year.

Convener of the BASIS SoftExpo 2018 Mr. Mostafizur Rahman Sohel said- Youths’ interest and excitement in the day long sessions really inspired us. All the interested youth from different districts across the country, especially from Narail, Chittagong, Netrokona and Jessore took part in the Freelancer Seminar. BASIS is likely to work with new planning to connect all these interested participants.

Organizing such kind of expo is always a challenging issue and we are really thankful to them who made this task very simple, as said BASIS President Mr. Almas Kabir in the closing speech. He added-A corresponding team from Ethiopia visiting the expo asked us for some recommendations to organize such event. It means that Bangladesh has already become familiar as a role-model globally. We have to utilize this opportunity. From right now, BASIS is going to work to organize much bigger events next time.

This year ‘iPay’ was elected as the best stall in the SoftExpo, whereas BEXIMCO Online Limited (BOL) was selected as the Best Mini-Pavilion. On the other hand, ‘Era Infotech’ got rewarded as the Best Pavilion.

Team Kaaktarua (Scarecrow-কাকতাড়ুয়া) from Daffodil International University (DIU) was the first Runner Up in the Innovative Project, whereas Robotic Arm of Daffodil University was the second Runner Up. On the other hand, local robot ‘Bangro’ won the championship award.   

The organizing committee also showed their gratitude to Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited, Banglalink, Bank Asia, Mastercard, Ring ID, IBPC to support them organizing such a big ICT event.
