Number of mobile and internet subscribers in the country is increasing uninterruptedly. In just a single month, number of internet subscribers got increased up to 4 lakh, whereas mobile subscribers up to around 20 lakh, as per the latest statistics published by Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) last January.

Number of total subscribers of the existing four mobile operators in the country is 140 million and 70 lakh, as the statistics showed. Among them, 60 million 58 lakh 66 thousand subscribers belong to Grammenphone, 40 million 42 lakh 25 thousand subscribers are of Robi, 30 million 23 lakh 56 thousand (lessened a little bit) subscribers of Banglalink and 45 lakh 53 thousand subscribers are from the statehood operator Teletalk.

Last December, total number of these four mobile operators was 140 million 51 lakh 14 thousand. BTRC has prepared this statistics on the basis of information of subscribers remaining active at least for 90 days, provided by the operators. Source: Banglanews24
