The team ‘On the Edge’ has become the champion in the seventh edition of Banglalink Innovators of Technology Innovation. Kan Terzioglu, Group Chief Executive Officer of VEON, the mother company of Banglalink, announced the name of the champion team using the 0007 password given by Robot Nova. 

Erik Aas, Chief Executive Officer of Banglalink; Sami Ahmed, Managing Director and CEO of Startup Bangladesh Limited; Three Judges; Monjula Morshed, Chief Human Resources and Administration Officer of Banglalink and Upang Dutta, Chief Commercial Officer were present at the event.

The Champion innovators come up with an app to help small and cottage businesses use Ai to drive business growth. The inventor team is headed by Salman Sayeed, a final-year student of BUET’s Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering. Three other inventors are: Hasrat Humayun of Army Institute of Business and Administartion, Hannan Saeed from North South Uninversity and Nazifa Ahmed from University of Dhaka.

The ‘Innovators 7.0’ winners came out of the 5 teams selected in the final round at a five-star hotel in the capital on Monday night to encourage young people to use artificial intelligence-Ai. Earlier, the presenter announced the names of Team ‘Rocket’ as the first runners-up and ‘Four of a Kind’ as the second runners-up in this year’s event. Parents of the participants, family members, representatives of various sectors and Chief Corporate and Public Affairs Officer of Banglalink Taimur Rahman were present.

The members of the first runner-up team are: Pushpita Khan, a student of Islamic University of Technology; Nafees Fayaz from Bangladesh University of Professionals; Mayesha Hasan, a student of Dhaka University Business Education Faculty and Abir Ershad, an IBA student of Dhaka University.

The second runner-up team includes-Umme Fariha Sadek, an IBA student of Rajshahi University; Tasnia Nafees of Islamic University of Technology and SM Zahidul Islam, an IBA student of DU.

More than 35 thousand contestants from 153 universities in Bangladesh participated in this competition. After the preliminary selection, the selected contestants participate in various activities to enhance their skills. Among these are boot camps, grooming sessions, workshops, and various trainings.

Under the auspices of Banglalink, there will be an opportunity to visit the office of VEON, the owner company of Banglalink located in Dubai in United Arab Emirates. All members of the top three teams will be eligible to participate in Banglalink’s flagship Strategic Assistant Program. This program will give them all the training they need to become efficient managers in the future.

All contestants from the top five teams will be eligible to participate in Banglalink’s Advanced Internship Program. Through this, they will get an opportunity to gain corporate experience in a realistic way. Also, each of the top 40 contestants will be able to participate in Banglalink’s Campus Ambassador Program and act as Banglalink’s representative in their respective universities.

Meanwhile, at the finale of ‘Innovators’, Banglalink’s new motto “Lead the Future” was announced, which is in line with Banglalink’s new Employee Value Proposition. It reflects the exemplary mission of the organization and the continuous improvement of its employees.
