The two-day long 45th National Science and Technology Fair is being held at the National Science and Technology Complex building in Agargaon in the capital. More than 700 students, young scientists and inventors from 64 districts of the country participated in the fair. Besides winning from the district and divisional levels, the young science lovers are participating in quizzes and Olympiads in this central arrangement of this festival.
All the results of the Olympiad have been captured by students outside the capital Dhaka. There is no one from Dhaka among the 10 contestants selected in the two groups. And in the senior group, female contestants dominated as winners.
Young inventors are showcasing 192 inventions in junior, senior and special groups. Besides, 24 winning teams from 8 divisions of the country participated in the science quiz competition.
On the other hand, on the first day of the festival, Md Najib Mahmud, a student of Khulna Zila School, became the first in the national level in the Olympiad on Tuesday; and Fatema Maria, a student of the Narayanganj Government Women’s College, became the first in the senior group.
In the Olympiad according to the order of merit, Md. Nuruzzaman Khan, a student of Hajiganj Government Model Pilot High School and College in Chandpur became 2nd; Abdullah Al Sajid of Harimohan Government High School, Chapainawabganj stood third; Md. Farhan Mahdi Ul Alam of Northland Model School, Lalmonirhat stood fourth and Sadman Alim Nirjhar, a student of Pabna Zila School, stood fifth.
On the other hand, in the results of senior group, Tasnim Tabassum of Sirajganj Government College became second; Md Omar Farhan of Bhola Government College stood third; Taslima Tasnim Lamia of Cumilla Victoria Government College became fourth and Labiba Tasnim of Gazipur Government Women’s College became fifth.
A total of 256 contestants in junior and senior groups from 64 districts of the country participated in this competition.
