On Friday, February 28, CNN reported, citing an official post on the company’s X account, that the once-popular communication platform Skype will no longer be available for use from May.

According to the post, "Launched in 2003, Skype was once a primary means of communication for people around the world. However, users will only be able to access the platform for a limited time."

Microsoft acquired Skype in 2011 for $8.5 billion, marking its largest acquisition at the time. The tech giant later integrated Skype into its mobile and Windows operating systems, aiming to enhance its communication services. Source; CNN
