Government is going to setup around 160 ICT Training and Research Centers in another 160 upazilas under a project worth taka 845 crore and 42 lakh which has already been approved in a regular meeting of ECNEC presided over by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Previously, our government also established same kind of ICT Training and Research Centers in 125 upazilas and the project was of around taka 403 crore and 77 lakh.

The project approved yesterday will be executed with the finance of Economic Development and Co-Operative Fund of Korean Government. They are going to provide around $76.022 million as loan. The interest rate of a loan for 40 years including 15 years grace period is only 0.01%. Government’s Secondary and Higher Education Division is going to execute it. The project has to be accomplished by June of 2020, as it was instructed.
