The amount spent in buying and sending the Bangabandhu Sattelite-1 into orbit is expected to be realized within seven and a half years.
“If everything moves ahead in planned ways, the whole amount invested for the satellite will be gained within half time of its term of functioning,” Bangladesh Communication Satellite Company Limited (BCSCL) Chairman Dr Shahjahan Maumud told banglanews.
“The income we will get in the remaining time, will be counted as our profit,” he added.
Bangabandhu-1, the first ever commercial satellite of Bangladesh, was sent to space from Florida, United States on May 12, 2018.
Meanwhile, its experimental functioning for commercial use has started.
