Bangladesh’s Telecom and Energy Emperor Mohammad Aziz Khan has been listed as the only Bangladeshi in Forbes’ 2024 list of billionaires. Mohammad Aziz Khan is the Chairman of Summit Group. His net worth is said to be 1.1 billion US dollars, which in Bangladeshi currency is about 121 billion taka.

Forbes lists Aziz Khan as the top businessman in Bangladesh in the energy, shipping industry, broadband internet services and housing sectors. It has been shown how sharply he has become a billionaire from 2023 to 2024. In 2019, he reportedly sold a 22 percent stake in Summit Power International to Japan’s JERA for $330 million, with a market value of $1.5 billion.

However, he is far behind in terms of wealth in the global list. The 69-year-old businessman is on the 2545th place in Forbes’ list of billionaires.

Forbes magazine has published the annual list of billionaires of 2024 with some such surprises. It has been revealed that the total number of billionaires in the world is 2,781, which is 141 more than last year. Their total assets are $14.2 trillion, which is $2 trillion more than in 2023.

But most of the wealth is in the possession of the top 20 people. After 2023 they collectively add $700 billion. There are 813 Americans on the billionaires list, with a combined net worth of $6.7 trillion.

India ranks third in the list with 200 billionaires. Their combined assets amount to $954 billion.

French businessman and LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault topped the list of the richest with a fortune of $233 billion alone. Elon Musk, the CEO of the US electric car maker Tesla, is in second place. His assets amount to 195 billion dollars.

Amazon chief Jeff Bezos placed third, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is fourth, Oracle’s Larry Ellison is fifth, Berkshire Hathaway’s Warren Buffett is sixth, Microsoft’s Bill Gates is seventh, Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer is eighth, Reliance Group’s Mukesh Ambani is ninth and former Google CEO Larry Page is in 10th place.

American singer Taylor Swift has entered the list of billionaires for the first time. She broke the history of the music industry and earned almost 1 billion dollars in one tour. According to Pollster, the first 60 shows of the Eras Tour around the world grossed $1.04 billion. The tour still has shows to be staged in Europe and North America.

India’s Mukesh Ambani has entered the 10 billion dollar club as Asia’s first businessman. He earned this money from various types of business under Reliance Group of Industries. Ambani’s wealth is reported to be $11,600.
